Flying

The largest collection of aerial videos and photos

International flights in a sport aircraft offer fantastic opportunities to see the world differently. I want to share this experience with anyone who has the same passion. That is the main reason why we have developed this portal in which you can find aerial photos and videos of places in Europe, Africa, New Zealand and the . To record the flights I carry three cameras under the aircraft (two under the wings and one under the tail) and a hand-held camera inside the cabin. To my knowledge we now own the largest collection of aerial video and photo records of European islands and many cities as well as other points of interest such as volcanoes, fjords, glaciers etc. - some 6000 Gb of material.

My main focus is unusual  features (islands, volcanos, glaciers, mountains, fjords etc.) or historical places (mainly WWII and WWI). I work closely with the No 1 internet news portal in the Czech Republic - iDNES.cz, which publishes the photos, articles, videos and an interactive map on line so that their readers can follow my expeditions in real time. The readership is between 20-50,000 per day during my trips. In addition I organise public presentations and pilot courses focusing on international VFR flying.

In 2014 I carried out an expedition entitled "European Islands from the Skies". The expedition covered islands in the Mediterranean, East Atlantic, North Sea and Baltic Sea. Altogether about 45 flight days and almost 200 flight hours have resulted in a fantastic series of photos and videos which you can find on this site. In addition I have published  four e-books with photos, text and videos covering these trips. So far these are only available in Czech and one in but if there is interest I am prepared to make English and French versions too.

Photos and videos with brief explanations are chronologically shown below starting with the latest. To my knowledge the collection of videos and photos on this website is the most systematic presentation of aerial videos and photos available anywhere.

13.8.2014 Photos - Day 3 Rainy departure from Vaasa

13 August 2014

From Vaasa I flew over the magic Kvarken Islands and Bothnic Bay to the northernmost point of my journey - the city of Oulu. From here I continued across the Finnish inland to Tampere. The Kvarken Islands are rising from the sea at a speed of about 8-10 mm per year, so the changes in the size and shape of the islands are visible even when comparing photos just 20 years old with the present ones. more

August 11, 2014

The first day took me to the Island of Usedom in Germany and then over the island of Bornholm to the beautiful city of Visby in Sweden. Bornholm in particular and the surrounding islets as well as the historic city of Visby are well worth your while. For WWII enthusiasts - Usedom island was the home of Peenemunde laboratories where the infamous V1 and V2 missiles were developed. I flew over and recorded these facilities too. more
