Summary of important rules applicable to international VFR flights

Airports of Entry

• Any airport for Schengen originating flights

 • Immigration/customs airport for non-Schegen originating flights

Entry Requirements 

• File and activate international flight plan (not necessary for flights originating in Germany, Poland, Slovakia) 

 • Land at a designated airport of entry (AOE) – customs/immigration for flights originating in non-Schengen originating flights; any airport for Schengen originating flights

Requirements for ICAO member state registered aircraft: 

• Third Party Insurance 

Requirements for ultra light and other non-ICAO registered aircraft 

• ?????

Exit Requirements

• Depart from an AOE – immigration/customs airports for non-Schengen destinations; any

• File an international flight plan (not required for flights to Germany, Poland, Slovakia)

Aircraft Instruments and Equipment 

 Country of A/C registration airworthiness and certification requirements may not meet other

 country requirements. Additional equipment may be required to comply with the airspace 

 navigation requirements. Need to verify!!!

Over-flight 

No permission from Civil Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transport is required for non scheduled over-flights of the Czech Republic territory. 

Private Flights 

The submission of the respective flight plan (FPL) to the air navigation services provider and the airport authority is considered as a sufficient approval. For flights from/to Praha/Ruzyně Airport require slot time and can be requested from the coordinator.

Fuel 

Jet A1 and AvGas are generally available. It is, however, important to verify the actual 

availability at smaller airports.

•  VFR at night is permissible. Sunset/sunrise times are available at the ENR section of the AIP
